Love people that moan at a golf course due to the weather ?!?!!
Anyway, a great mix of holes. It starts with a par 3 on to a par 5....and they are probably the most boring holes but get you in gently!!! After this it is a really picturesque track up and down hills through trees and the race track. The greens were good 8/10 the fairways lovely 9/10 the tee boxes a bit ropey in places but ok 6/10 the bunkers were GUR or awful 1/10.
That said, there were probably 6 or 7 holes that were absolutely corkers. Very quiet so good pace of play, great practice facilities and nice race course view for a beer after!
And £30 a round is a great deal
Booked online for 17.30 tee time, pro shop was closed so couldn't get a score card. Relatively easy to follow the course. Quite an easy walk. Greens are in fantastic condition considering how hot its been with no rain.. will definitely play there again
Green condition was good even though it hasn’t rained for long time in this summer. A bit Challenging course but so fun. We enjoyed two days.
They have many buggys.
Enjoyed this little hidden gem. Beautiful course very well looked after and really excited to play it in the winter when it’s had a bit of water! Greens are immaculate and a really l scenic walk!
£30 or £70 for a 2 AND a buggy this time of year is fantastic
Yes...the tees are a bit ropey
Yes...the bunkers are poor
But some cracking holes. The greens were pretty true and quick. The shop is a nice little stocked well tuck shop.
I think it's a great track for a social round. No bar open or food otherwise it would be a great society venue (we had to use the hotel to get 2 coffees pre round....£7+!).
But for value and quality of layout.....well worth it
3,5,6,8, 13, 15, 17 all cracking golf holes!
Played the course for the first (and last) time on the 5th December, the pro in the shop described the course as 'very wet' and 'the green keepers have not been able to cut the grass'. Well this was a bit of an understatement as the course had no fairways at all and resembled a farmers field - long grass and wet mud everywhere but the green. The bunkers looked like they hadn't been raked in months, the greens were passable speed wise but covered in disease. We lost multiple balls on the 'fairway', drives just plugging straight into the ground. It seems that the conditions are not just due to the wet weather and the clay based ground, but a complete lack of care and maintenance and severe lack of investment in proper drainage? The one consolation was we had the whole course to ourselves, the only mugs willing to pay and play 18 holes! Lingfield should close the course for 6 months of the year honestly.
Completly flooded and destroyed, they shouldn't let people play. Worst experience I ever had. Got a package with hotel and 2 rounds but not even playing the 2nd as it is just unplayable. Ridiculous
Went there for a day at the races and a concert at the end (Madness), all sound, great parking near the race course (though would suggest leaving a little early to avoid the rush when leaving). You can get a variety of food and beverages (on the expensive side though), great for a family and friends day out, the railway station isn't too far away either fit those that want a good drink without the hair of driving.
